IELTS Speaking Part 1 Introduction
Let’s look at Part 1 of the Speaking Test, the introduction. Part 1 of the Speaking Test is 4 to 5 minutes in length and has two sections, the introduction and the interview.
To begin with, the examiner starts the recording device to record the test. After that, you and the examiner introduce yourselves. The examiner asks you your name, where you are from, and also asks to see your identification.
After the introduction, the interview part begins. In this part, you have to answer some questions; firstly about familiar topics such as your hometown or your work or study. The examiner then moves on to ask you questions on topics which could include for example, food, your free time, or movies or music, or maybe holidays or festivals. Overall though, the questions are about you and your life experiences.
