Example Questions about Swimming
Did you learn to swim when you were a child? [Why/Why not?]
Yes, I learned to swim when I was a child. My parents believed it was an essential life skill, so they enrolled me in swimming lessons at an early age. I enjoyed it because it gave me confidence around water, and it was also a great way to stay active.
How often do you go swimming now? [Why/Why not?]
I don’t go swimming as often as I’d like these days, maybe once a month. My schedule has become quite busy with work and other commitments, so it’s hard to find the time. However, I still try to go whenever I can because I find it relaxing and a great form of exercise.
What places are there for swimming where you live? [Why?]
In my area, there are a few options for swimming. We have a local community pool that’s open to the public, and there’s also a sports center with an indoor pool. Additionally, we live near a beach, so some people prefer swimming in the sea when the weather is nice.
Do you think it would be more enjoyable to go swimming outdoors or at an indoor pool? [Why?]
I think swimming outdoors is more enjoyable, especially on a warm, sunny day. The fresh air and natural surroundings make it a more pleasant experience. However, indoor pools are more convenient during colder months or when the weather is unpredictable, so I guess it depends on the season.

Describe a famous business person that you know about.
You should say:

You will have to talk about the topic for one to two minutes. You have one minute to think about what you are going to say. You can make some notes to help you if you wish.

The famous business person I’d like to talk about is Elon Musk, the CEO of companies like Tesla and SpaceX. He’s known for his innovative approach to technology and his vision of making sustainable energy and space travel more accessible.
Elon Musk is involved in various kinds of businesses, but he is best known for his work in the electric car industry through Tesla, which produces electric vehicles. He’s also heavily involved in space exploration with SpaceX, which aims to reduce the cost of space travel and even make Mars colonization possible in the future. Additionally, he’s behind ventures like SolarCity, which promotes clean energy, and the Boring Company, which focuses on infrastructure and transportation innovation.
What I know about him is that he was born in South Africa and later moved to the United States to pursue his career in technology. He started off by co-founding PayPal, which revolutionized online payments. Over the years, he has become one of the most influential figures in the tech industry, pushing boundaries with futuristic ideas such as the Hyperloop and Neuralink, a project aiming to merge human brains with artificial intelligence.
I think Elon Musk is a highly ambitious and visionary person. He’s not only a brilliant businessman but also someone who’s committed to solving some of the world’s most pressing problems, like climate change and space exploration. However, some people criticize his management style, calling it demanding, but I admire his ability to dream big and his persistence in turning those dreams into reality.

Additionally, successful businesspeople and politicians often gain fame, though their recognition may be more focused on their achievements rather than their public image.
Why are there so many stories about famous people in the news?
I think there are so many stories about famous people because the public is fascinated by their lives. People like to know about their lifestyle, fashion, personal relationships, and even controversies. The media capitalizes on this interest by constantly producing content about celebrities, knowing it will attract viewers or readers. It’s a way to drive attention and, ultimately, revenue.
Do you agree or disagree that many young people today want to be famous?
I agree that many young people today aspire to be famous. With the rise of social media, fame has become more accessible, and people see influencers and celebrities enjoying what seems like glamorous lives. Being famous is often associated with success, wealth, and admiration, which makes it appealing. However, some young people might not fully realize the pressures that come with fame.
