The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) exam has two types: Academic and General Training.
The Academic test is for individuals who want to pursue higher education in an English-speaking country or seek professional registration, while the General Training test is for individuals who want to work, train, or study at a secondary level in an English-speaking country or migrate to an English-speaking country.
The main difference between the two tests is in the Reading and Writing sections. In the Academic test, the Reading and Writing sections focus on academic subjects and require a higher level of vocabulary and understanding, while the General Training test focuses on general everyday topics and requires a more practical use of language.
However, the Listening and Speaking sections are the same for both tests, and test-takers are evaluated on their ability to understand spoken English and communicate effectively in various situations.
